
Sending and receiving flowers date back to prehistoric age have been discovered through Flower Fossils. There are marks of flowers association with humans during the Paleolithic age. Archaeologists found skeletons of a man, two women, and an infant buried together in soil containing pollen of flowers in a cave in Iraq. After a thorough study of the flower pollen, scientists came to know that the flowers had some therapeutic properties.
People have used to send flowers to express their love & feelings, mollify their surroundings, and to commemorate certain rituals and observances. In fact, all types of art depict the use of flowers: music, book, paintings, ceramics, stone etc. Few examples are the flower pictures, produced by artists during the 17h, 18th and 19th centuries, which clearly express the beauty of exquisite flowers. Recent studies shown that there are over 270,000 species of flowers exist in the 21st century.
During the Victorian era, in England, the use of flowers was as important to people as being “well dressed.” For example, the noticeable fragrance of a particular flower, or plant sent its own special message to the recipient.
