The eighth day of the shady half or Krishna Paksha of the month of Bhaadra, falls the event of Janmashtami. Janmashtami, the birth day of Lord Krishna is celebrated with grand attachment. Lord krishna of the most respected incarnations in the Hindu Dharma. The first day is Krishnashtami or Gokulashtami. The second day is called Kalastami or more recognized Janmashtami.
Foremost celebrations of Krishna Janmashtami takes place at midnight as Krishna is said to have made his divine appearance in that hour. Fasting, bhajans, pujas, kirtan and lot of additional rituals mark Janmashtami celebrations in India.
Shri Krishna was born more than 5000 years before in Mathura city, the respected God of Hindu religion and his teachings hold immense relevance till date. On the time of Lord Krishna birth various planets were in fortunate places. In the early morning, ladies sketch of little children's feet outside the house with rice-flour paste, walking towards the house. This reflect the entry of the child Krishna into their foster-home.
